As usual we will have a Domino tournament
and we will have activities for the kids.

~ VOLUNTEES NEEDED FOR AIR FORCE MARATHON:

  • Date: September 19, 2009
  • Time: any time between 6:00AM - 2:00 PM
  • Volunteers needed for SHPE OHIO-SW USAF Marathon Hydration Station on September 19, 2009.
    This year the station will be co-sponsored with NSBE! Come out and support this event!
  • For the past four years, SHPE OHIO-SW has sponsored a hydration station at the United States Air Force Marathon.
    This event has always been a blast with SHPE members, family and friends getting together to help pass out water, Gatorade and gel packs to the runners while listening & dancing to party music and encouraging the runners.
  • If you want to participate this year, please register as a volunteer through the USAF Marathon web site (see instructions below).
  • Date: Saturday, September 19, 2009
  • Time: 6:00 AM-2:00 PM (Choose your own time as volunteer, more are needed between 6:00-9:00 AM)
  • Location: SHPE OHIO-SW Hydration Station C. Intersection of Kauffman Ave. and Shields Ave. in Fairborn.
  • Food: Coffee and donuts are provided by the USAF Marathon in the morning, hamburgers & hot dogs provided by SHPE OHIO-SW for lunch.

~ INSTRUCTIONS: How to register as VOLUNTEER:

1. Go to the marathon web site at http://www.usafmarathon.com>and select the "Volunteer Here!" option under the "REGISTER NOW" menu below the marathon logo at the top left corner of the web page (or go to http://www.usafmarathon.com/volunteer.htm).
2. Select the "Click here to volunteer!" link from the USAF Marathon Volunteers web page (or go to http://volunteers.marathonguide.com/volunteerregistration/usafmarathon.cfm). 3. Enter your information in the USAF Marathon Volunteer Form. Our station is not located on Wright-Patterson AFB, so you do not need a Military ID or CAC card for access. To ensure you are counted with our group/station, please select the following options on the form: a. In the "Volunteer Job Information" section of the form, select "SHPE OH SW Chap" from the drop down list box where it asks "Are you with an organization sponsoring a volunteer station?". b. In the "Race-Day Opportunities (Saturday, September 19)" section of the form, select the Hydration Station C-SHPE check box. After you complete the form, click on the "Submit Volunteer Application" button at the bottom of the web page. A confirmation email with your volunteer information will be sent to the email address you entered in the form.
