Volunteer opportunities are available for the SHPE Conference in Cincinnati

Volunteer opportunities are available for the SHPE Conference in
Cincinnati!! These opportunities will allow you to meet company
representatives and fellow SHPE members. The more you volunteer, the
better your chance to win great prizes!!! Volunteers will receive
snacks and be entered into the volunteer raffle drawing, which offers
$1000 in gift certificates and the Grand Prize, one (1) airline ticket
to anywhere in the US and PR.

It's fast and easy!

1. Visit the SHPE Conference website - http://www.shpe.org/shpe2010
2. Identify the opportunities you would want to participate in as a
volunteer
3. Sign up using the online form!

Volunteering for certain roles will provide you with guaranteed access
to that particular event, help out and attend the function of your
choice. For example: Volunteer as a workshop assistant and guarantee
yourself a spot at that workshop. HURRY! The best volunteer
opportunities will go fast.

Please be aware that volunteers will be required to check-in 30 minutes
prior to the start of their volunteer shift at the Volunteer Center.
Note, persons volunteering for workshops may be required to check-in
earlier. The volunteer sign up online form is NOT connected to OneSHPE.
Volunteers thus must create an account within the conference volunteer
system in order to sign up for opportunities.

2010 US Air Force Marathon : US Air Force Marathon 2010

Date: Saturday, September 18, 2010
Time: 6:00AM -3:00 PM (Choose your own time as volunteer, more are needed between 6:00-9:00 AM)
Location: SHPE OHIO-SW Hydration Station C, located at the intersection of Kauffman Ave. and Shields Ave. in Fairborn.
Food: Coffee and donuts are provided by the USAF Marathon for breakfast, hamburgers & hot dogs provided by SHPE OHIO-SW for lunch.
Theme: TBD, ideas are welcome!

Volunteer Registration Instructions
1. Go to the marathon volunteer web page at http://www.usafmarathon.com/volunteer.htm and select the "Volunteer for the Air Force Marathon!" link at the top of the page.
2. Enter your information in the USAF Marathon Volunteer Form.
***Important***
In the "Volunteer Job Information" section of the form, select "SHPE OH SW Chap" from the drop down list box where it asks "Are you with an organization sponsoring a volunteer station?". This will ensure you are assigned with our group (i.e., you will not need to check the Hydration Station C - SHPE box listed in the Race-Day Opportunities section).
3. Go to the bottom of page and click on the "Submit Volunteer Application" button. You should see a confirmation page with your volunteer information and receive a confirmation email.

Volunteer T-Shirts
Volunteers must be registered online by Aug. 31 to receive a T-shirt. FYI, the volunteer coordinators assured us they will have a sufficient supply of T-shirts of all sizes (in the past they ran out of some sizes). The T-shirt color is cardinal red this year. I will pick up all the T-shirts for our registered volunteers on 9 Sep. There will be no T-shirt pick up at the Marathon Expo this year.
