SHPE Ohio SW : UD's 2012 Minority Engineering & Technology Enrichment Camp (METEC) Dinner
Posted by Orlando on 2012/5/9 5:30:00 (32 reads)

UD's 2012 Minority Engineering & Technology Enrichment Camp (METEC) is sponsoring Dinner with Professionals on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 6-8pm in Kennedy Union West Ballroom to help our incoming minority undergraduate students meet with real world engineers and scientists in an informal social setting.

The evening begins at 6 PM with a social time, followed by dinner, where students and practicing engineers and scientists dine together at tables of 6 or 8.

Our hope is the students will get the chance to learn, first hand, what life's like out there.    Our students are full of enthusiasm and questions, like:

"Are you glad you became an engineer or scientist?"

"Do you have a regular day, or is each one different?"

"What one thing do you wish someone had told you about engineering or science before you entered the work place?"

"What would you do differently if you were to start over back in college?"

"Was there any course that you really valued, or that, looking back, you wish you had taken?"

            "Is your work fun?"

Dress is business casual.
